Hakari is built so that your data never leaves your iPhone. We don’t run servers, we don’t use accounts, and we don’t collect any data.
What Hakari stores
- Weigh-ins: weight, time, heart rate (if your scale measures it) and the scale model that produced the reading. They are stored only on your iPhone, in the app’s own storage and its widgets.
- Your profile: height, birth date, the sex used for formulas, activity level, goal weight and BMI standard, if you enter them. Stored only on your iPhone.
- Settings: reminders and similar preferences. Stored only on your iPhone.
Deleting a weigh-in removes it from Hakari and from Apple Health. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your iPhone.
Apple Health
With your permission, Hakari writes weight (and heart rate, if you turn it on) to Apple Health, and can read height, birth date and biological sex to fill in your profile. You can change these permissions at any time in the Health app. Health data is never used for advertising and is never shared with anyone.
Bluetooth
Hakari uses Bluetooth only to receive the readings your scale broadcasts. Nearby device advertisements are processed on your iPhone and are not stored, except when you start a Bluetooth Diagnostics capture yourself. A capture is shared only if you choose to send it to us.
What we don’t do
- No account, no sign-in
- No analytics, crash reporting or advertising SDKs
- No tracking across apps or websites
- No data sold or shared with third parties
Purchases and notifications
Hakari Pro is purchased through the App Store; Apple processes the payment and we never see your payment details. Weigh-in reminders are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone.
